Most trips require
that you be accustomed to the skills and fitness of the trip you
want to take. Since we know nothing about your skill or fitness
level, we have prepared detailed itineraries for all our trips and
in them have outlined carefully the daily distances, elevation gains
and drops, difficulty of rapids, etc. that we must cover every day
and you should judge your ability to participate based on that information.
For a trip itinerary in PDF format send an e-mail to Bill
Pollock or phone 819-326-3602. |

Char-broiled or pan
fried steak with campfire baked or mashed potatoes, béarnaise sauce
and our famous fresh spinach Caesar salad are common on many trips.
Many desserts are from Diane Pollock's kitchen, and may include,
but are not limited to: Decadent chocolate brownies, pecan squares,
chewy-soft (habit forming) ginger cookies, thick Scotch shortbread,
spiced raisin molasses cookies, "overboard" oatmeal cookies
and peanut butter chocolate squares. On trips where we must carry
all the food on our backs, we keep the weight down by using some
dehydrated and freeze-dried foods. The latter come from Harvest
Foodworks. We have tried many brands and Harvest Foodworks stands
out well above the others in terms of quality, quantity, variety
and taste. We also have an armoury of pasta and rice dishes including
our famous mystery food, "Portage" as well as many recipes
for bannock and Logan breads. We shouldn't tell you all this because
you may expect too much. If you are allergic to peanuts, are lactose
intolerant or need a special diet, tell us before the trip and bring
appropriate medication. If you would like a sample menu, E-mail

Although it may cost
more, your guide is a highly experienced canoer, backpacker, cross-country
skier or mountain biker. A guide can provide instruction - if you
want it. He also knows the rivers, lakes, and trails because he
has been there before. And, you don't have to buy, pack or cook
food, obtain maps, arrange for canoes and transportation. Bill Pollock
is the guide and leader on most trips. He is a forest engineer with
over 35 years of experience in forest management, ecology and tripping
in the outdoors. TUCKAMOR TRIPS is his retirement project. He regularly
guides Canadian trips for the Adirondack Mountain Club. He has skied,
hiked, and paddled most of the routes, so he knows what to look
for and what to look out for. He can show you exciting places along
the way that you might not otherwise visit. On each trip, he offers
choices, giving you the freedom, flexibility, and decision-making
you value. |
